With stunning sights and memorable days out, Northumberland has so much to offer. There are hidden historical sites to explore, visit the many castles along the coast and inland, discover peaceful gardens, and be inspired by old estates and country houses or stroll along the endless golden sands of the beautiful coastline.
Lowick is ideally located for visiting the nearby Island of Lindisfarne(7.5 miles) where you can enjoy visits to many historical sites including the Priory, the Castle and the harbour.
The nearby beaches of Goswick, Cheswick and Cocklawburn are blessed with miles of golden sands set against a sea abundant with wildlife. You can take a boat trip from Seahouses to see the Puffin and Seal colonies of the Farne Islands and maybe catch a glimpse of dolphins on the way. There are also boat trips available from Berwick Upon Tweed Quayside offering castle and river cruises.
If castles are your thing then you're in the right place, you can visit Alnwick Castle (30 miles) where Harry Potter and Downton Abbey were filmed or the stunning and dramatic Bamburgh Castle (12.5 miles). There are 70 castle sites in total in Northumberland.
There are four golf courses within 12 miles of Lowick the nearest being a links course at Goswick which is used for the Open qualifiers.
